About the SimBuddy Journal

Independent commentary on Australian mobile plans

The SimBuddy Journal covers the Australian mobile plan market from a consumer angle. Every week we publish a deal recap, a plain-English guide, or a piece of telco news our editors think is worth your ten minutes. We don't run press releases dressed up as articles, and we don't take payment to feature specific providers — commercial content is labelled and clearly separated from editorial.

Editorial priorities are set by what actually changes for consumers: price movements on prepaid plans, network partner deals that expand or shrink coverage, ACMA rulings, and the practical questions our readers send to hello@simbuddy.com.au. When we compare specific plans in a post, the underlying scores come from the same six-signal formula that powers the live comparison pages, so a post never contradicts the ranked lists on the rest of the site.

Every article carries a clear byline, a publication date, and a modification date if we've revisited the piece. If a plan mentioned in an older post has since been withdrawn or repriced, we add an editor's note at the top rather than silently rewriting history.

  • Weekly deal-drop recap every Monday morning.
  • Plain-English guides for eSIM activation, porting, and coverage checks.
  • Reader questions answered on the record — email us and we'll fold the answer into a post.
